  • Maximum ambient operating temperature: 130o F (54o C)
  • Control Package and Guard Enclosure each sold separately
  • IMPORTANT: OSHA requires enclosure with safety interlock
  • Capacity:
    • 1000 Lb. (455 kg) Liquid Load
    • 400 Lb. (182 kg) Dry Load
Shifting dry load exerts greater stress on drum rotator than fluid motion of liquid load
Morse developed the basic concept to provide "hands-off" drum mixing. Enjoy the benefits of easy, ergonomic loading and unloading and eliminate many hazards of manual drum handling.

Morse Hydra-Lift Drum Rollers accept a drum in upright position at floor level.

You control the hydraulic powered drum tilt to lift the upright drum and place it down on drum rotator wheels.

Start and stop drum rotation with a second control. A standard 55-gallon (210 liter) drum can be rolled from 5 to 20 RPM (4 to 16 RPM on 50Hz models), as desired, to thoroughly mix drum contents. Then return the drum to vertical to unload.

Combine three components (each sold separately) to meet safety requirements:
  1. Drum Roller
  2. Control Package
  3. Guard Enclosure Kit
OSHA REQUIRES a guard enclosure with safety interlock, so that rotator automatically stops running if enclosure gate is opened.

IMPORTANT: OSHA holds the employer responsible for the suitability of design and application of tools and machinery.
Install all Morse Rotators in accordance with requirements for enclosure and safety interlock, etc. One way to accomplish this is with a Morse enclosure with safety interlock, so the rotator automatically turns off when enclosure door is opened. Power connections and motor controls must also comply with applicable local codes.

For OSHA compliance in the USA, see OSHA subpart O.1910.212(a)(4) "Barrels, containers, and drums. Revolving drums, barrels, and containers shall be guarded by an enclosure which is interlocked with the drive mechanism, so that the barrel, drum, or container cannot revolve unless the guard enclosure is in place."

Available with choice of electric or air motor.

Explosion-proof electric motors available. Only NON-Explosion Proof AC Control Packages include a pre-wired control box.

NEMA 4/12 Control Box includes Timer, Start and Stop Buttons, Red Emergency Stop Button, Lockable Main Disconnect, and Wire terminals for safety interlock switch. NEMA 7/9 Explosion-Proof Control Box includes Start and Stop Buttons, and wire terminals for external connection of safety interlock switch.

Explosion-Proof Control Packages have no wiring from the NEMA 7/9 control box to the motor. Please consult an electrician to complete the wiring in accordance to your local code.

Explosion-Proof motors are rated for Class I Group D, and Class II Groups F & G.

Address Safety Issues - Mixing contents inside a sealed drum eliminates the risks of spills and splashing of dangerous contents on workers during transfer, and greatly reduces clean-up, and the risk of contamination. It also eliminates use of special mixing vessels.

Morse 1-5154 Series Single Stationary Drum Rollers roll one 55-gallon (210 liter) steel drum.

Morse 2-5154 Series Double Stationary Drum Rollers allow you to roll 1 or 2 drums at a time.

Models are available with fixed or variable drum rotating speeds. Variable Speed Stationary Drum Rollers rotate your drum at any speed from 1 to 30 RPM. Select the best speed for each material. Enables you to use high speed for initial mixing, then low speed for prolonged agitation. Fixed Speed Stationary Drum Rollers roll a 22.5" diameter drum 20 RPM. The 20 RPM speed is effective for mixing most liquids. Variable speed drum rollers are ideal for experimental use, or where you need to blend a variety of materials.

Combine three components to meet safety requirements:
  1. Drum Rotator
  2. Control Package (sold separately)
  3. Guard Enclosure Kit (sold separately)
